The car is dubbed as the reigning king of the asphalt jungle, and it is definitely a befitting name for the new Dodge Challenger. The 2009 model has three different trims you can choose from, namely SE, R/T, and SRT8.
The base model, Challenger SE, comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission, while the Challenger R/T has 5-speed automatic transmission. However, the SE underwent a transformation in the latter part of 2009, and became a 5-speed automatic transmission. It comes with power windows, cruise control, air conditioning and aluminum wheels.
The 2009 SE model has another variation, the Rallye Package. The look has also improved along with the performance, which has been modified for top-end speeds.
The R/T comes with a classic version with retro features. It will have a 6-speed manual transmission.
You can get the 2009 SRT8 with either 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission. It also has 20-inch (510 mm) forged aluminum wheels and other cools features, which include a Sirius satellite radio, Brembo brakes, bi-xenon headlamps and a sport suspension. This year saw a special mode called the Spring Special offered in B5 Blue. Look out for 2010 models, which will come in Detonator Yellow, at an additional cost, of course.
The coolest part is that you can build your own Dodge Challenger. Log on to the Dodge website, and choose your exterior color, interior look and type of engine along with the transmission type. You can add additional features at extra cost like engine block heater, spare tire, power sunroof and high intensity discharge headlamps. Once you have chosen your car, you will get instant quotes.
