92 Crown Victoria Ford Review
| Introduced in 1955, Ford Crown Victoria is a rear-wheel drive full-size sedan manufactured by Ford Motor Company. Ford Crown Victoria is highly popular as a taxi cab, fleet vehicle and police car where durability, cost and performance are the top requirements rather than fuel efficiency. |
The 1992 Ford Crown Victoria is a redesigned model of Ford LTD Crown Victoria that existed till 1991. Introduced as a 4-door sedan, this version was equipped with an improved 4.6L, 2-valve, 190 hp, and single exhaust modular SOHC V8 engine with 4-speed automatic transmission. There was another variation available that was fitted with an optional dual exhaust, 210hp, modular V8 engine. These engines provided a much smoother and a more powerful performance.
The exterior of the 1992 Ford Crown Victoria was designed taking cues from the redesigned 1992 Taurus and Jaguar. While the front-end with grill less nose was similar to Taurus, the roof was remodeled in the lines of Jaguar. There were certain other changes in the design including a slightly modified version of the chassis similar to 1979 LTD Ford.
Apart from the redesigned exterior image, 1992 Ford Crown Victoria was packaged with exquisite interiors. The most significant improvements in the 1992 Ford Crown Victoria were the advanced safety measures fitted into the car that ensured the safety of a driver. These additional features fitted into the 1992 model that included four-wheel disc brakes, driver-side air bags, a place in the dash for passenger airbag and an electronic anti-lock braking device.
However, a certain section of buyers were not very much impressed with the 1992 model as it lacked the front grill. The grill was included into the vehicle while producing the 1993 model. According to EPA ratings, 1992 Ford Crown Victoria had average fuel efficiency with a mileage of 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
