Henry Ford Timeline

Henry Ford was responsible for revolutionizing the automobile industry. He is also given credit for automating assembly lines so that production of manufactured goods became faster. Here is a brief Henry Ford timeline that will give you an insight into this great man's life.

Henry Ford Timeline

1863: Henry Ford was born on 30th of July in Dearborn of Michigan.

1879: Henry Ford started working for the Michigan Car Company in Detroit.
 
1880: Ford started just like an apprentice and also he worked part time for extra money in a watch repair shop.

1882: He was working on steam engine machinery when Westinghouse took him to operate the steam engines.

1884-85: He started attending a business school situated in Detroit.

1888: Ford married Clara Bryant.

1892: He joined Edison Illuminating Company, and moved to Detroit.

1893: Ford had his first child Edsel. He got promoted to Chief Engineer.

1896: Since 1893, Ford had started experimenting on his own home built internal combustion engine. He finally succeeded in his experiment and ran the first car called the Ford Quadricyle. He met scientist Thomas Edison in the same year.

1899: Ford found investors and started Detroit Automobile Company but it was soon dissolved. 1901: Since he was jobless he moved to his fathers place.

1903: Ford along with a few other partners formed the company only with $28,000.

1908: Model T was launched and the best feature about it was it was affordable.

1913: Ford started mass production in this year and this is when the real growth came to the company.

1914: Henry Ford paid his workers very well and several people started moving to Detroit to join the company.

1918: President Woodrow Wilson requested Ford to become an ambassador of peace.

1947: Henry Ford Died on April 7, due to cerebral hemorrhage. He was 83 years old when he died.
