The first year Escapes were extremely popular and people still are very happy with the models. The more recent models seem to have developed some bugs and glitches which need to be fixed. Also some reports show that the first year models had suffered several recalls and the recent models seemed to have ironed out the creases better. The escape is well suited for on road driving more than off road driving. It carries a lightweight AWD system and a unibody construction which helps during on-roading. The car suits even a budget conscious buyer.
The initial problems with the Ford Escape were minor issues such as wind noise and a poor break system that did not function well on low speeds. However, buy the later models which do not have such problems.
